About Dr Mahibur Rahman (Director, Emedica)

Dr Mahibur Rahman graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine and is currently a Portfolio GP in Birmingham. He completed his GP training on the Neath Port Talbot VTS in Wales Deanery.

Through his role as Medical Director of Emedica, he has been involved in training over 8,500 doctors, helping them advance their careers. This has included courses on Getting into GP training, courses to help GP trainees prepare for MRCGP Viva and nMRCGP AKT and CSA exams. He also leads "nMRCGP for Trainers" courses, helping GP trainers prepare their registrars for the AKT and CSA examinations.

Dr Rahman is working with Warwick Medical School as a Consultant in Medical Education, helping to develop elearning resources related to the new GP Curriculum for GP trainers and trainees.

He is the editor of www.gpst.info the leading online resource on GP training in the UK.  The website offers free resources for trainees at all levels, from those applying (F2 / SHO / Staff grade) to GP Registrars.

From 2005-2007 he was the GP Registrar representative for South Wales on the RCGP (Wales) Welsh Council, the GPC (Wales) committee, BMA's GPC GP Registrar subcommittee and the Independant Advisory Committee on Postgraduate Education in General Practice.

He was the MRCGP questions editor for onmedica.net from 2005 - 2006, writing a monthly set of practice questions for the MRCGP paper 2.  He was also the Guest editor of UK Health Informatics Today, for their Special edition on Primary Care Computing (Winter 2006).

He completed a Masters degree in Health Informatics at the Centre for Health Informatics and Multiprofessional Education ( CHIME ) at University College London, where his research project was on interactive learning technologies.  He received his MSc with distinction.  

Dr Mahibur Rahman received a Roche / Royal College of General Practitioners GP Registrar award in 2005 for his project entitled "Health Challenge Quiz: Developing an interactive Health promotion tool".
